Globee Education

children-globee.jpgVirtually every child from a very young age gets used to holding, catching, throwing, turning and looking at some form of ball, be it a football, a netball, a cricketball, a tennis ball etc.

For many it becomes intoxicating and addictive - the power of the sphere. Why not expand this to the classroom. Our globees are not only beautifully illustated but are very educational. Children learn by touching and feeling. There is also an educational book and a fun quiz as well. The teachers and parents at Parkfield Community School in Birmingham had great fun designing a globee of Birmingham and felt it was a fabulous interactive project.

Helen Hackett from the school said, "It really motivated the children in their learning; they researched the places, enjoyed two visits to key places in the city, took photographs and videos and recorded everything they saw. They learnt an awful lot and are so excited that their work is being used to develop our very own Birmingham Globee. The children all really enjoyed the topic and I look forward to repeating it with a new group of children this year."

The school were also interviewed by the local Radio Station in Birmingham and BBC Radio Birmingham are also planning to visit the school to meet teachers and pupils alike.
